Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance despite attempts by detractors to derail his administration.

Speaking at a State Executive Council meeting in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke reflected on recent political challenges in the state, vowing that his administration would remain steadfast in its service to the people.

“Last month was a very busy and turbulent one. We were confronted with a misuse of federal power, from security services to judicial interpretation.

“A vicious, anti-democratic campaign was launched against our government, and Osun was placed under siege in a manner nobody ever envisaged.”

Despite these challenges, the governor declared that his administration had successfully resisted efforts to destabilize the state.

“We survived the evil and offensive onslaught. We overcame forces of darkness that sought to impose anarchy. Our adversaries failed in their bid to plunge Osun into chaos,” he stated.

Adeleke highlighted key achievements, including the successful conduct of the local government elections and the swearing-in of democratically elected officials.

He also noted ongoing legal efforts to remove what he described as “illegal invaders” of local government offices.

The governor further disclosed that his administration has taken significant steps to hold accountable officials of the previous government, citing widespread reports of procurement corruption and financial infractions.

He urged members of his cabinet to remain vigilant and continue prioritizing due process.

“The desperate opposition forces are still lurking in the dark. We must never succumb to their plots. Instead, we should focus on delivering the five-point agenda of this administration, completing all ongoing projects, and launching new ones to spread democratic dividends across the state,” he emphasised.
