To improve and sustain the tourism ecosystem in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has sought collaboration with investors.
In an opening ceremony of the Global Tourism Investment Summit titled “The Evolving Landscape of the Hospitality Sector: Embracing Green and Sustainable Investments,” Governor Sanwo-Olu made the call.
The government publication shared on their Facebook page noted that the event was held on Monday and organised by the International Tourism and Investment Conference (ITIC) at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, Westminster, London.
The event aims to sustain global tourism and provide diverse ideas and insights on the future of environmentally friendly investments.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, represented Governor Sanwo-Olu at the event.
Other sectors present at the gathering are tourism ministers, industry leaders, and developers from the tourism, travel, and hospitality sectors.
On behalf of Governor Sanwo-Olu, the key speaker, Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka, spoke during the session titled “Tourism Perspectives in the Evolving Global Economic Context,” highlighting his administration’s efforts and pivotal role played in promoting the state globally.
However, the boss of ITIC Ltd. and former Secretary-General of UNWTO, Dr. Taleb Rifai, and the group CEO and Managing Director of International Tourism Investment Corporation Ltd., Ibrahim Ayoub, described that Governor Sanwo-Olu’s invitation was based on his unwavering developmental commitment seen in the state.
