Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has extended his congratulations to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on his victory in the November 16 governorship election.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the collation of results on Sunday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, Governor Oyebanji described Aiyedatiwa’s victory as a testament to good governance under the APC-led administration in Ondo State.
He also highlighted it as a resounding vote of confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the Ondo electorate for their continued trust in the APC, citing the party’s track record of good governance in the state since 2016.
He noted that the victory presents a renewed challenge for Governor Aiyedatiwa to deliver more impactful governance, as the people of Ondo State have shown immense faith by granting him a fresh mandate.
Furthermore, he remarked that the electoral success reflects Nigerians’ recognition of President Tinubu’s leadership and their belief in the government’s socioeconomic policies, which aim to foster sustained progress and economic prosperity.
The Ekiti governor commended APC stakeholders, including the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Progressive Governors’ Forum, the National Campaign Council, and all party members, for their collective efforts in ensuring the party’s success at the polls.
He lauded the people of Ondo State for their peaceful and orderly conduct throughout the election process, which contributed to the overall success of the exercise.
Special recognition was given to Ekiti State indigenes residing in Ondo State, whom he applauded for responding to his call to support Governor Aiyedatiwa’s reelection.
Mr Oyebanji expressed optimism that they would benefit from the dividends of good governance in the new administration.
The governor also praised INEC for the improved processes observed during the election, particularly in the prompt release of polling unit results and the smooth collation process.
Additionally, he commended security agencies for their professionalism, which ensured the peaceful conduct of the election from start to finish.
Governor Oyebanji urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to remain magnanimous in victory and extend a hand of fellowship to his opponents, fostering collaboration to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Ondo State.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate my dear brother, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa on this well-deserved victory. While wishing him a successful tenure, we look forward to a more strategic partnership with his administration for the benefit of the citizens of the two sister states.

Big congratulations to our party, the APC and a big congratulations to the good people of Ondo State who have voted for continuity of good governance under APC”, the statement added.
