Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the release of one billion naira in gratuity payments for state pensioners.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Yinka Oyebode, the governor also confirmed the disbursement of two months’ worth of pension arrears to local government pensioners.

This approval comes just a month after the governor distributed a total of N3.5 billion in gratuity checks to retirees across the state, showcasing his administration’s commitment to clearing the backlog of unpaid gratuities.

Furthermore, Governor Oyebanji approved the payment of two months’ outstanding subventions for Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, as well as one month of outstanding subventions for Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH), Bamidele Olomilua University of Education, Science and Technology, and the College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti.

Additionally, the judiciary will receive one month’s outstanding subvention.

These payments, he noted, fulfil his promise to prioritize the welfare of workers and retirees and to clear all unpaid entitlements owed by past administrations.

This commitment aligns with his administration’s continuity and shared prosperity agenda.

Governor Oyebanji encouraged state workers to remain dedicated to service excellence, assuring them of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and timely payment of all entitlements.
