Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as Acting Chief Judge of the state.

Yinka Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday. 

Earlier, The New Daily Prime reported that the state Chief Judge, Justice John Adeyeye appointed on 11 October  2021 died on Monday at the age of 64.

Oyebode said the appointment of Ogunmoye was in furtherance of the powers conferred on the Governor by Section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The appointment of Hon Justice Ogunmoye takes effect from 5 November. 

Born on 6 November 1963, Justice Ogunmoye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987, and was appointed a judge on 1 April 2010.

Governor Oyebanji wishes the new Acting Chief Judge a successful tenure.
