Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has launched the ARISE Youth Employment Portal, aimed at creating job opportunities for the youth of Akwa Ibom.
In a statement posted on his X page on Tuesday, the governor emphasised that this initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to fulfilling the promises outlined in his charter with the youth of Akwa Ibom.
He noted that the portal supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for poverty reduction and will feature job opportunities categorised by skill sets, enabling both the private sector and civil service to effectively recruit from our pool of talented individuals.
“The portal also supports various empowerment programs, including the Youth Business Support Scheme, ARISE Entrepreneurial Support, and Bursary Educational Grants”, Governor Eno said.
Additionally, he unveiled plans to establish a State Inter-Labour Committee aimed at ensuring that companies operating in Akwa Ibom prioritise the engagement of indigenous human resources and uphold transparent employment practices.
The governor stressed that this initiative will enable his administration to secure meaningful employment opportunities for the youth, particularly in sectors like Ibom Watch and Health/Safety monitoring, which are poised to recruit thousands of workers.
“I urge all Akwa Ibom youths to take advantage of this opportunity to secure meaningful employment and contribute to the development of our state”, said the governor.
