Dele Momodu, a former presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election, has voiced his concerns about the ongoing Edo State Governorship Election.

Earlier, the New Daily Prime reported that several individuals were arrested by the EFCC and the police in connection with thuggery and vote-buying activities.

In a statement shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), the 64-year-old journalist expressed his disappointment, calling the election process ‘disgusting and depressing’.

Mr Momodu further criticized the government, highlighting its continued failure to conduct simple, transparent elections despite numerous promises of reform.

He tweeted: “I’m watching different television channels and social media platforms covering the Governorship election in Edo State. 

“I must say how distressing, disgusting, and depressing it is that, at this time and age, we are finding it hard to conduct a simple and transparent process. shame.”
