The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Kano State has arrested controversial TikToker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya on charges of Naira mutilation and abuse, specifically for spraying money—an act that violates Nigerian law.
NEW DAILY PRIME gathered that the popular TikTok star, who has had brushes severally with law officers, was arrested by EFCC operatives at a social event on Sunday.
A source within the commission confirmed to Freedom Radio Kano that Murja is currently in EFCC custody.
The EFCC has been intensifying its crackdown on individuals who engage in the indiscriminate spraying of money at events such as parties and birthday celebrations.
In recent times, the commission also arrested other TikTok influencers, including Al’amin G-Fresh and Ashir Idris, on similar charges.
As of now, neither the EFCC nor Murja Ibrahim Kunya’s legal representatives have issued an official statement regarding the matter.
