A Nigerian-Canadian medical practitioner, identified as Dr. Zo, has stirred conversations on social media after advising Nigerians abroad to reconsider sending money to people in Nigeria.

In a now-viral video, Dr. Zo expressed his belief that Nigerians living in the country enjoy a better lifestyle compared to their counterparts abroad.

He highlighted the vibrancy of life in Nigeria while urging diasporans to reflect on their financial sacrifices.

Admiring the beauty of Lagos, he said, “See when you are abroad, I mean if in the west, making money, and you are sending money to anybody in this Nigeria, just understand that the person has a better lifestyle than you, the person is enjoying more than you.”

Sharing his recent experiences, he continued, “Nigeria is a lovely place. In fact, I think we should fast and pray that this govt need to work because the jollof in Nigeria, you can not get it in any country of the world.”

Dr. Zo also disclosed his plans to invest in a home in Nigeria, citing the country’s unique appeal.

He said, “As I go now, I’ll book my house in Nigeria. I pray the country gets better so I can come back and enjoy this life with everyone here. Anyone I send money to in Nigeria now, I’ll tell them, ‘This is mountain going to Muhammad.’ You guys are enjoying more than us.”

In a follow-up video, Dr. Zo doubled down on his stance, emphasizing the differences between life abroad and in Nigeria.

He said, “I’ve been abroad for quite a while, traveled to four different continents, and I’m a top medical practitioner in Canada. But after just a day or two here, I maintain my stand. Even the food here is different —better.”

He added, “If I could find someone to pay me even 20% of what I earn now, I’d move back to Nigeria. This is a lovely life. You’d be among your people, enjoying the unique culture and energy.”
