Governor, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has strengthened the state’s security with the inauguration of 5,000 personnel of the State Civil Protection Guards.
This was disclosed on the Facebook page of the governor yesterday.
Also,in a bold initiative to enhance the operational capacity of security agencies, the state government also donated 100 new Hilux vehicles and 600 Special Combatant motorcycles.
The governor equally unveiled the Operation “Anyam Nyor” Joint Security Task Force, an initiative designed to fortify Benue’s State security framework and decisively tackle criminality across the state.
Alia further stressed the importance of the measures put in place in ensuring that residents live, work, and farm in peace.
The governor called on all criminal elements in the state to embrace the ongoing Amnesty Programme championed by the Benue State Amnesty Committee.
The committee, chaired by the Tor Tiv and the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese, offers a pathway for reintegration into society.
Governor Alia expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, Service Chiefs, and the Inspector-General of Police for their steadfast support.
He also acknowledged the critical contributions of the Benue State Traditional Council, led by the Tor Tiv, His Royal Majesty Orchivirigh James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, and the Ochi Idoma, His Royal Majesty John Elaigwu Odogbo, in fostering peace and stability in the state..
Furthermore, he commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), his fellow governors, and security partners for their collaboration and encouragement.
He commended the Catholic Bishop of Katsina-Ala Diocese, Isaac Dugu, for his unwavering dedication to peace-building efforts in the state.
