Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, has announced that his administration will begin implementing the new minimum wage in October.
The New Daily Prime reported in July that organized labour agreed to a N70,000 minimum wage after negotiations with the federal government.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page Thursday, Mr Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in the welfare of the state’s citizens.

“I’m pleased to share that by next month, in October, we will implement the new minimum wage, reinforcing our commitment to our educators and public servants. We remain committed to investing in our people.
“This new minimum wage and free education initiative are testaments to our resolve. This move is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of workers and students in Anambra, improving their standard of living and access to quality education.”
