Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has relieved Adeboye Taofiq Ewenla, the Special Assistant on Forestry for the Central Senatorial District, of his duties with immediate effect.
In a statement issued by Aiyedatiwa’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, the dismissal was linked to allegations of bribery and intimidation made by timber merchants in the state against Mr Ewenla.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also ordered a probe into the activities of those saddled with the responsibility of managing forest reserves in the State.
Furthermore, the governor said a replacement for Mr Ewenla will be announced in due course.
The governor urged all political appointees to conduct themselves in line with the provisions of the law and rules guiding their duties.
