Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has assured the full implemention of the newly signed 2025 budget to benefits of the people.

Governor Adeleke made this commitment during the signing ceremony of the 2025 budget into law, highlighting that the event underscores the administration’s dedication to advancing the state’s growth and development in the new year.

The budget, tagged the “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation,” amounts to ₦427.75 billion.

The governor directed Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to vigorously pursue its implementation, stating, “Our budget performance must remain commendable every quarter.”

He further urged the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development to monitor the implementation process to ensure delivery aligns with set targets and expectations.

“The Appropriation Act will serve as our faithful instrument to deliver on the five-point agenda for good governance,” Adeleke added, assuring Osun residents that the budget will meet public expectations.

He commended the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development for their professionalism throughout the budgetary process and expressed gratitude to the House Speaker and members of the State Assembly for their contributions.

“The Executive arm welcomes oversight activities by the lawmakers,” the governor noted. “I urge members of the State Executive Council to collaborate with the lawmakers as they exercise their mandate during the 2025 fiscal year.”

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House, Adewale Egbedun, described the signing ceremony as the culmination of a thorough budgetary process focused on maximizing public benefits.

The speaker said the budget reflects the vision and agenda of the executive, infused with insights from the legislature as representatives of the people.

Providing a technical breakdown, the Commissioner for Economic Planning, Budget, and Development, Moruf Adeleke, assured the public that the budget’s parameters stem from Governor Adeleke’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Osun State residents.
