The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dismantled a trans-border drug network, arresting four individuals and seizing large quantities of illegal substances in multiple operations.

On 27 January, NDLEA intercepted a Sienna bus on Nasarawa-Toto road in Keffi, arresting Zahradeen Adamu, 27 and Abubakar Usman, 44 for smuggling 190,960 tramadol pills from Onitsha to Yola.

Another Sienna, driven by Abba Usman, 48, was also stopped. Supplier Kingsley Mbaeri was arrested in Onitsha, and two vehicles were seized.

On 4 February, NDLEA officers stopped a bus from Onitsha at Abaji checkpoint, arresting Chimezie Henry Ojingwa aged 32 with methamphetamine, Loud, and a meth precursor hidden in spare parts.

On 13 February, officers in Cross River intercepted a truck carrying 170,000 tramadol pills, arresting driver Paul Chukwudi, 31. At Apapa seaport in Lagos, 85,400 bottles of codeine syrup from India were seized on 11 February.

Other arrests included Halilu Isa and Gambo Umaru in Borno with 72kg of cannabis, three suspects in Ekiti with 83kg, and Samiat Olabisi Yussuf in Lagos with 169.5 liters of nitrous oxide and 111 grams of Loud.

In Taraba, Ibrahim Usman and Solomon James were caught with 132.84 kg of cannabis.

NDLEA continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign nationwide, educating students, workers, and communities. Awareness events were held in schools across Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Ekiti, and Kano.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the officers for their efforts in tackling drug trafficking and promoting awareness.
