Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has made history with her latest film ‘Queen Lateefah’, which has quickly become one of the highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time.

Since its release in September, the film has grossed an impressive N350 million in just two months, surpassing Toyin Abraham’s ‘Malaika’, which earned N302 million.

This remarkable achievement places Queen Lateefah among the top 7 highest-grossing Nollywood films, making Toriola a standout figure in the industry.

The film is now poised to challenge the records set by Funke Akindele with her blockbuster films: A Tribe Called Judah, Battle On Buka Street, and Omo Ghetto: The Saga.

Toriola shared her excitement on social media, expressing her gratitude for the overwhelming support from fans.

She wrote, “No 7 oooooooooooo. Queen Lateefah still waxing strong and shining bright! Grossing 350M and 7th Highest Grossing Nollywood Title of All Time. Big thank you to everyone who has seen this masterpiece. You guys are the best. If you haven’t seen #QueenLateefah yet, today is a great day to see this beautiful story. Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to congratulate her on the milestone. One fan, Jidegoldalaga, reflected on Toriola’s past ambition, recalling a comment she made on Funke Akindele’s page about aiming for N500 million at the box office. “See now, she’s approaching that figure, Insha Allah,” he wrote.

Another admirer, Habeebalagbe, praised Toriola for her achievement, saying, “7th highest-grossing Nollywood of all time. Wow, congratulations, beautiful.”
