Comedian Chibuike Alfred, aka Josh2Funny, opens up about social media trolling, balancing family life, and overcoming challenges in his career.

Speaking candidly in an exclusive interview, Josh2Funny reflected on the challenges and triumphs of his career, which spans over a decade.

Facing social media trolls

Josh2Funny admitted that, like many public figures, he has faced his fair share of criticism and cyberbullying. However, he chooses to focus on the positives. “I don’t see those negative comments from people saying it doesn’t make sense,” he said. “I only see people enjoying my comedy. When I read the comments, I see people laughing, and that’s what drives me.”

While some critics have taken their disapproval directly to his private messages, he remains unfazed. “There have been times when people came to my DM and badmouthed some of my jokes. But it’s okay. Not everybody will like my jokes,” he added.

Despite the occasional negativity, Josh2Funny remains steadfast in his mission to bring happiness to his audience. “I choose to make people happy. I’ve been doing this for more than 10 years, and it’s all about spreading joy,” he emphasized.

Balancing comedy and family life

The comedian also spoke about juggling his responsibilities as a father, husband, and performer. He acknowledged that being a father comes with its challenges but reframes them as opportunities. “I don’t like to call them challenges,” he explained. “Being a father comes with a lot of responsibilities, but I just try to be responsible.”

Josh2Funny shared how he switches roles seamlessly. “When I’m home, I’m a father and husband. When I go out to work, I focus on work. It’s a beautiful experience being a father. I always try to see the positive side. It’s beautiful.”

His love for fatherhood shines through in his approach to parenting. He prioritizes spending quality time with his children and ensures that his work doesn’t create unnecessary stress for his family. “I’m not doing anything that will stress my children. I’m responsible for keeping my comedy clean, and I’m happy to be a proud father,” he stated.

He takes pride in crafting jokes that even his children can enjoy. Sharing a personal anecdote, he revealed, “My two-year-old loves my jokes. He even mimics them.”
