Popular Nigerian singer Okikiola Badmus, better known by his stage name Portable, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin.
The decision followed his failure to meet the bail conditions imposed by an Upper Area Court in Kwara State.

Portable appeared in court on Monday to face charges of defamation. The case was filed against him by Fuji music legend, Akorede Saheed, widely known as Saheed Osupa. According to the court, Portable made public statements that damaged the reputation of the respected musician.

The second surety must be a property owner living in a Government Reserved Area (GRA) within Ilorin. This person must also show a valid Certificate of Occupancy as proof of ownership.
These conditions proved too difficult for the singer to meet on short notice. With no qualified sureties available immediately, the judge ordered that Portable be taken into custody until further notice.
