Pay-TV operator MultiChoice Group has announced significant updates to its SuperSport channels, unveiling a new channel and renaming three others across its DStv and GOtv platforms.
The changes took effect on Wenesday, October 9, 2024, as part of MultiChoice’s strategy to enhance its sports offerings.
In a statement released on Thursday, Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa, detailed the transformations.
The former SuperSport Select Channel has been rebranded as SuperSport Africa, while a new channel, SuperSport Action, has been introduced. This channel aims to provide a broader spectrum of sports content, including exciting UFC matches and more Champions League games.
The updates extend to various GOtv packages:
– In the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli packages, SuperSport Africa will take the place of Select 2 (Channel 64).
– For the GOtv Max package, both SuperSport Africa and SuperSport Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 and 64).
– On the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus bouquets, SuperSport Action will replace Select 3 (Channel 69).
Oshunkeye emphasized that these changes are part of MultiChoice’s ongoing efforts to provide customers with unbeatable sports content that resonates with African audiences.
“The channel revamp is aimed at enhancing our sports offering,”
“We are committed to delivering top sports action from around the world, including local boxing, UFC events, and comprehensive analysis tailored for our viewers.” he stated.
