Nigerian actor and popular online content creator, Adebowale Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, has added another feather to his cap.
The comedian recently completed a professional acting course at one of the most respected drama institutions in the world, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, United Kingdom.
The news came directly from the entertainer himself, who took to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday to share the achievement with his fans and followers.
Completes advanced acting for camera course
Mr Macaroni announced that he had completed the Advanced Acting for Camera Course at RADA. The course is designed to sharpen the skills of actors who want to master the technical demands of acting in front of the camera.
In his post, he shared a photo of himself standing in front of the RADA building, smiling confidently. Alongside the image, he wrote, “I am excited to complete the Advanced Acting for Camera Course at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.”
Fans, colleagues celebrate Mr Macaroni’s milestone
Following his announcement, social media buzzed with excitement. Fans, friends, and fellow entertainers flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages, applauding his latest accomplishment.
Many described the achievement as well-deserved, noting Mr Macaroni’s continuous efforts to improve his craft and remain relevant in the entertainment industry. Others praised his determination to keep learning, even after building a successful career as a skit maker, actor, and activist.
A journey of grit and growth
This latest academic milestone is just one chapter in Mr Macaroni’s long and winding journey in education and entertainment. Before his rise to fame, he had experienced several educational setbacks and career detours.
New Daily Prime recalls that the actor initially enrolled to study Law at Houdegbe North American University in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. However, he did not complete his studies there.
Later, he found his path in the arts and eventually earned a degree in Theatre Arts and Film Studies from Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun State, graduating in 2018.
His time at Redeemer’s University wasn’t smooth either, as he faced disciplinary issues and setbacks. But through it all, he remained focused on his passion for performance and storytelling.
From skits to global spotlight
Mr Macaroni rose to prominence through his online comedy skits, where he plays the character of a wealthy and eccentric “Sugar Daddy” who often uses his influence to exploit young women, only to be exposed or embarrassed in the end.
His catchphrases, including “You’re doing well” and “Freaky Freaky,” became popular among Nigerians and have made him a household name in digital comedy.
Beyond comedy, Mr Macaroni is also known for his activism. He has been vocal about issues affecting Nigerian youths and was one of the public figures who played a key role during the #EndSARS protests in 2020.
Looking ahead
Now with additional training from a world-class institution, many expect Mr Macaroni to take on more serious roles in film and television, especially in international productions. The skills he gained from RADA could position him for opportunities in Nollywood and beyond.
His graduation from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art signals a new phase in his career. It also serves as a reminder that growth in the creative industry requires continuous learning and reinvention.
