Nigerian music stars Davido and Wizkid ignored each other after being spotted at the same London nightclub.

Videos showed Davido already inside when Wizkid and his team arrived.

Despite their near proximity, they did not exchange pleasantries, and Wizkid left shortly thereafter.

Their encounter has created a stir on social media, fuelling rumours about their strained relationship.

Later on Wizkid took to his X page to brag about their encounter, “Everybody Dey find Big Wizzy”.

Prior to their last meeting, Wizkid had attacked his competitor, Davido on X, with a series of tweets claiming that the “Unavailable” crooner is untalented and privileged.

The New Daily recalls that Wizkid renewed his long-running spat with Davido after five months of intense online spat.

For the second time in 2024 Wizkid started a fight and took shots at his perceived rival Davido.

The new trouble started in September, when Wizkid announced a big announcement for Independence Day (October 1). Shortly after, Davido promised a huge announcement on the same date. The coinciding announcements sparked excitement, anxiety, and banter among the duo’s intimidating fanbases.

As promised, Davido teased a new single Instagram photo with the caption, “New song loaded. “Happy Independence, Nigeria.”

On that same October 1 night, Wizkid reacted to the excerpt by tweeting, “Beg me, just like… Pus** boys are dropping mids again! Una don tyre! Make una go rest small!” This was seen as a clear shot at Davido’s most recent effort.

The drama worsened when Davido’s creative director and close friend Tycoone @BlackTyconne tweeted on October 1st, “Tell your daddy to drop now.” This was widely interpreted as a sly shot at Wizkid.

Dr. Fab on X, a huge Wizkid fan, responded by encouraging Tycoone to “say please.” Wizkid then retweeted this interaction, exacerbating the situation.

Wizkid’s answer was even more harsh, giving Davido the new nickname “Frogido.” He continued to taunt, “80 trash!” We have 80 albums for each song you choose! “Pus**, boys!”

The fresh conflict started by Wizkid has piqued the interest of fans and celebrities, causing controversy and excitement.

In an X post, popular OAP Dotun expressed his frustration with the situation, writing, “This is the longest rivalry in the history of Nigerian entertainment. “We’re tired!”

Similarly, controversial critic Daniel Regha responded to Wizkid’s statements regarding Davido being a “wack” and “talentless” artist. The famed critic said that “Wizkid wouldn’t be where he is today without Davido,” and that their rivalry keeps Wizkid “relevant.”

On April 29, The fight between the music icons rekindled when Wizkid  posted a leaked footage of Davido pretending to plead on his knees.

He used the video to criticise Davido, suggesting that his fans should beg for new music in the same way. This provocation sparked outrage on social media, prompting responses from fans and other artists such as Kizz Daniel and Tekno.

In reaction, Davido slammed Wizkid, alleging his music was “no longer relevant” and bragging about his hits and success. He said that he had overshadowed Wizkid and others since joining the industry. Davido also voiced disappointment that their planned joint tour had been cancelled, dismissively taunting Wizkid’s stature and career.

Wizkid responded by pressing down on his criticism of Davido, belittling his abilities and labelling him “delusional.” He also made disparaging statements about Davido’s crew, which exacerbated the tensions.

Despite Wizkid’s clear insults, Davido has kept promoting his music online.
