The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, have met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso, as part of efforts to strengthen the alignment between fiscal and monetary policies.

In a statement signed by Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations, the meeting, which took place in Abuja, came on the heels of a positive development in the economy, with Nigeria’s inflation rate easing to 22.97% in May 2025.

The discussions between both economic managers centred on maintaining and accelerating this progress.

They focused on strategies to stabilise prices, enhance investor confidence, and promote private sector-led economic growth.

The ministry said the meeting reflects its commitment to collaborative economic management, adding that it signals a renewed focus on driving sustainable development across the country.
