The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, has reaffirmed the federal government’s (FG) commitment to ensuring food security.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Agricultural Sector Working Group (ASWG) in Abuja, he called for a more adaptable and resilient approach to agricultural planning.
Edun emphasised the need to align Nigeria’s agricultural roadmap with the post-Malabo agenda.

He noted that the key priorities include boosting productivity, expanding access to finance, and unlocking the potential of value-added agricultural exports.
He assured stakeholders of the full support of the Ministry of Finance, describing agriculture as a central pillar in President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda.
The ASWG is expected to play a critical role in driving cross-sectoral coordination and ensuring measurable progress toward both national and continental food security targets.
