The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa over alleged mutilation of the Nigerian currency.

The Kano Zonal Directorate of the commission arrested Inuwa on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, following the circulation of a viral video on social media in which she was seen using naira notes to clean mucus from her nose.
The arrest followed intelligence gathering after the video attracted widespread public attention, prompting the commission to trace and apprehend the actress for questioning.
Inuwa is currently in custody at the EFCC detention facility in Kano, where investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The commission said she would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
