The newly elected Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State has unequivocally reaffirmed its complete and unshakeable allegiance to the National Working Committee (NWC) under the leadership of Barrister Kabiru Turaki.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Lagos State PDP exco elect declared its total solidarity with the national leadership, describing the Turaki-led NWC as the sole legitimate authority guiding the party towards the restoration of its core founding principles and the reclamation of its position as a dominant electoral force.

The statement comes amid efforts to consolidate party discipline and strategic rebuilding following the 2025 National Elective Convention held in Ibadan.
The Lagos chapter emphasised that it stands firmly behind the current national leadership as the party embarks on this new phase of unification and renewal.
Addressing widespread speculation and media reports, the Exco firmly dismissed claims suggesting that a court had nullified the Ibadan 2025 convention.
It described such reports as baseless propaganda orchestrated by detractors intent on sowing discord and instability within the party ranks.
The statement clarified that the Ibadan convention was conducted in full compliance with the PDP Constitution and represented a historic milestone that legitimately produced the present national leadership.
It stressed that the mandate conferred by the 2,745 accredited delegates who participated remains sacrosanct and cannot be overturned through what it termed “back-door litigation.”
“Our legal team remains fully vigilant and we are confident that the democratic will expressed at Ibadan will prevail,” the Exco asserted, urging members and supporters to disregard “phantom rulings” and concentrate on the broader objective of party cohesion.
Looking ahead, the Lagos PDP Exco Elect pledged its commitment to implementing the “Turaki Roadmap,” which places strong emphasis on grassroots mobilisation, genuine internal democracy, and the maintenance of a robust and principled opposition.
The committee highlighted ongoing efforts to reconcile all aggrieved factions within the Lagos chapter, with the aim of presenting a united and formidable front in forthcoming electoral contests.
“Our mandate is sacred, and our alignment with National Chairman Kabiru Turaki is non-negotiable,” the statement declared.
“We shall not allow ourselves to be distracted by those who seek personal gain from internal discord.”

The Exco called on all genuine PDP loyalists in Lagos and throughout the federation to remain resolute and steadfast.
It reiterated that the party transcends any single individual and affirmed that, under the present NWC, the PDP is genuinely being “returned to the people.”
The statement was signed by Prince Dr Christopher O. Odianarewo Dis.FCILMMD, MNIIA, the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary Elect.
