Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has revealed that he and late South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes resolved their long-running feud before the rapper’s death.
The two artists fell out in 2019 after Burna Boy threatened to “deal” with AKA if they ever met. The dispute followed claims that AKA encouraged xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa after he shared screenshots of alleged hate messages from Nigerian social media users during the AFCON quarterfinal match banter.

However, Burna Boy has now disclosed that the misunderstanding was later settled privately.
In a posthumous birthday tribute shared on his Instagram page, Burna Boy said they had squashed their beef through direct messages on Twitter, even though the reconciliation was not made public.
He expressed deep regret that AKA died before they could meet physically or work on planned collaborations.
“Happy birthday Supa Mega. We fell out over bullsh*t even though we squashed it over Twitter DMs nobody knew about; we never got the chance to really link up and do what we were supposed to do. I will regret that until I see you again. Until then, R.I.P Mega,” Burna Boy wrote.
New Daily Prime recalls that AKA was shot dead outside a restaurant in Durban on February 10, 2023. The trial over his murder is still ongoing.
