Last Thursday, Muslim and Christian clerics converged in Lagos to offer prayers for the re-election of Bola Tinubu as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections
The interfaith prayer session, organised by the Presidential Coalition Council (PCC), also marked the official launch of the group’s activities for the year. The event drew prominent political figures and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
Speaking at the gathering, the Administrative Secretary of the PCC, Abiodun Mafe, explained that the prayers were aimed at seeking divine guidance, wisdom, and support for President Tinubu as he positions himself for a second term in office.

According to Mafe, the initiative reflects the belief that spiritual backing is essential to ensuring stability and what he described as a smooth political transition in the years ahead.
“This prayer session brings together members of the PCC and clerics from both faiths to seek divine support for our leader, President Bola Tinubu’s re-election,” he said.
The event was attended by several notable political figures, including the PCC National Coordinator and lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Abiodun Faleke; former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro; former Lagos State Deputy Governors, Adebisi Sosan and Abiodun Ogunleye; as well as former Lagos APC Chairman, Henry Ajomale, among others.
The gathering underscores growing early political mobilisation within the ruling party as conversations around the 2027 elections gradually gain momentum across the country.
