Governor Charles Soludo has handed over 30 brand-new operational vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State Command.
The ceremony, held yesterday, at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia, underscores the administration’s “zero-tolerance” policy toward criminality and its commitment to ensuring the state remains a safe haven for residents and investors alike.
Speaking during the handover, Soludo highlighted that this latest intervention is a core component of his government’s broader security strategy.

He credited the sustained peace and order currently enjoyed across the state to the success of Operation Udo Ga Achi, a joint security task force launched a year ago.
“Since launching Operation Udo Ga Achi, we have seen a marked improvement in peace and order across the state,” the governor remarked.
“These vehicles will enhance the mobility and responsiveness of our police force, enabling them to effectively combat crime and maintain law and order.”
The governor expressed profound gratitude to the security agencies, noting that their “unwavering vigilance” allowed indigenes to return home in mass and celebrate safely during the recent festive season.
Receiving the keys to the Toyota Hilux patrol vans, the Commissioner of Police for Anambra State, Ikioye Orutugu, thanked the governor for his consistent support.
He noted that the augmentation of the Command’s fleet is a critical tool for rapid response to emerging threats.
The 30 vehicles follow a previous donation of 170 operational vehicles to various security agencies in 2025.
Orutugu also presented 28 newly commissioned Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs)—all Anambra indigenes—to the governor.
These officers recently graduated from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil.
Soludo charged the new officers to be “a Light to the Nation,” emphasising discipline, integrity, and professionalism in their service.
The governor reaffirmed that security remains a top priority and a “continuous work in progress.”

He assured the public that the state government would continue to provide the necessary resources to ensure that the labour of security heroes, both dead and alive, would not be in vain.
“Together, we will continue to build a safer, more prosperous Anambra for all,” Soludo concluded. “May Anambra continue to win!”
