Residents of Odigbo, Ondo West, and Ondo East Local Government Areas are set to benefit from a new wave of infrastructure and empowerment projects following a visit by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Continuing his statewide “Thank-You” tour yesterday, the governor assured citizens that his administration is committed to a total economic and structural transformation of the state.

Aiyedatiwa highlighted the Ore–Akure Road as a critical federal project that is significantly improving travel safety and reducing accidents.
He revealed that following a request from Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (who was recently confirmed by the Senate as an ambassador-designate), the state has taken proactive steps toward regional connectivity.
“The Ondo State Government has approved the dualization of the Igbokoda–Okitipupa Road”, the governor announced, linking the project to his broader vision for the state’s maritime and blue economy.
He further assured market women that various inspected bridge and road projects would commence before the Christmas holiday.
Describing women as “the salt of life,” Aiyedatiwa announced that over 900 women in Odigbo would benefit from a specialized empowerment initiative.
The event saw several women receive immediate cash gifts as part of a drive to boost local trade and household stability.
“Society cannot survive without women. We are ensuring they have the support needed to thrive in their businesses and support their families,” the governor stated.
In Ondo West, the governor commissioned a new transformer at the civic center to boost the local power supply.
The equipment was donated by Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju, the representative for Ondo West Constituency I.
The governor also acknowledged the positive impact of President Bola Tinubu’s national reforms, particularly the Student Loan Scheme, and urged parents to encourage their children to apply in order to ease the financial burden of higher education.
He further highlighted the ongoing and completed street lighting and road rehabilitation projects across Ondo town, describing them as clear evidence of the administration’s responsiveness to the needs of the people.
Reflecting on the state’s political landscape, the governor noted that the Ondo State House of Assembly currently operates with “no opposition,” fostering a seamless environment for development.

He also commended the Odigbo community for adhering to his executive order endorsing Tinubu for 2027, observing that many residents wore attire signaling their support for the President’s re-election bid.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Amidu Takuro, welcomed the governor to Odigbo—referring to the council as the governor’s “second home”—and praised the strong bond between the administration and the grassroots.
