Wolves appoints Rob Edwards as new manager after Vítor Pereira’s dismissal

‎Wolverhampton Wanderers have appointed Rob Edwards as their new manager on a three-and-a-half-year contract, following the departure of Vítor Pereira.
‎
‎The change comes after a poor start to the Premier League season, with Wolves failing to secure a win in their opening ten matches.
‎
‎In a statement adapted from ESPN Singapore, executive chairman Jeff Shi said the club needed a complete refresh guided by the philosophy of its new head coach.
‎
‎“I know Edwards very well and have witnessed his development across several roles,” Shi said. “He’s a great person who understands the club, the city, and our supporters — and he’s very talented.
‎
‎“When he worked here as a youth coach, his tactical awareness stood out, and since moving into senior management, he’s built his own identity, character, and leadership style.
‎
‎“We need to rejuvenate the entire club through the vision and ideas of our new manager, and Rob will be central to that new chapter.”
‎
‎Edwards previously guided Luton Town to Premier League promotion in 2023 and also managed Watford. Meanwhile, Middlesbrough, his former side, are currently challenging for promotion and sit second in the Championship.
