Nigerian singer, Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has expressed excitement over his first-ever Grammy nomination while showing heartfelt support for his collaborator and friend, Davido.
New Daily Prime reports that the singer earned his maiden Grammy nod with the hit single “With You”, a collaboration with Davido, which has been nominated for Best African Music Performance at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
The nomination marks a significant milestone in Omah Lay’s fast-rising career and solidifies his place among the new wave of Afrobeat superstars gaining international recognition.

Reacting via his Instagram story, Omah Lay said that while he was happy about the recognition, he does not attach much importance to awards.
Instead, he revealed that he is rooting for Davido to win the category, describing the DMW boss as one of the most genuine friends he has had in recent times.
“I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah but I really want it for OBO! He is the realest friend I’ve had in a while, he stood by me during my hardest times,” Omah Lay wrote.
The statement has drawn praise from fans across social media, with many commending Omah Lay for his humility and loyalty.
The pair’s collaboration, “With You,” has been celebrated for its smooth production, emotional depth, and the chemistry between both artists.
Davido, meanwhile, is no stranger to Grammy nominations. Despite four previous nods, including in the same category of Best African Music Performance since its introduction in 2023, the superstar is yet to secure a win.

The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
