The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s fiscal reforms, declaring that his administration is rebuilding Nigeria “brick by brick” through visionary leadership and disciplined revenue management.
In a statement issued on Monday, 27 October 2025, APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo praised the transformative efforts of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) under Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing them as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic resilience amid global disruptions.
Oladejo highlighted the FIRS’s overhaul as a “textbook example” of how institutional reforms, grounded in competence and integrity, can drive nation-building.
He credited Tinubu’s strategic policies for steering Nigeria away from a cycle of borrowing and dependency, fostering instead a self-sustaining economy.
“Revenue stability is the foundation of national sovereignty,” Oladejo stated, noting that every kobo collected through tax reforms is reinvested into critical sectors such as roads, schools, healthcare, security, and social investment programmes.
The APC’s statement underscored the administration’s commitment to empowering citizens by generating wealth internally.
“This is true nation-building a Nigeria that funds its own future,” Oladejo said, describing the Renewed Hope vision as both simple and profound.
Hee attributed Nigeria’s ability to weather global economic challenges to deliberate financial engineering and sound policy, with the FIRS serving as the “engine room” of this transformation.
The Lagos APC’s endorsement comes as Tinubu’s reforms continue to reshape Nigeria’s fiscal landscape, aiming to reduce reliance on external loans while bolstering infrastructure and social welfare.
