Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is set to make his debut at the prestigious Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival next year, joining the global lineup for one of the world’s biggest and most influential music events.
The organisers of the iconic festival unveiled the official line-up this week, revealing that Davido will perform on April 11 and April 18, 2026, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
His inclusion makes him the only Nigerian artist featured on the main bill this year, a feat that underscores the growing dominance of Afrobeats on the global music stage.
Davido, widely regarded as one of Africa’s most successful music exports, expressed excitement about the milestone, promising fans an unforgettable experience when he takes the stage. Known for chart-topping hits such as If, Fall, Unavailable, and Feel, the singer is expected to bring his signature energy, infectious rhythms, and Afrobeats sound to Coachella’s diverse audience.
“This is another win for Afrobeats,” music analyst and critic Nelson Oghen said. “Davido’s appearance at Coachella further cements the genre’s status as a global cultural force, following the footsteps of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems, who have all graced the Coachella stage.”

This year’s Coachella will feature an impressive roster of international talent, with American pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, Canadian megastar Justin Bieber, and Colombian reggaeton queen Karol G headlining the two-weekend event.
Other notable acts scheduled to perform include Young Thug, Major Lazer, Swae Lee, Teddy Swims, Giveon, and UK rap star Central Cee. The eclectic mix of performers reflects Coachella’s tradition of blending mainstream headliners with rising stars across genres such as pop, hip-hop, EDM, and alternative music.
Davido’s Coachella debut adds him to the list of Nigerian artists who have previously performed at the festival, including Seun Kuti, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Tems, and CKay. The inclusion of multiple Nigerian artists over the past few years highlights the growing appetite for African music globally.
Music industry insiders say Davido’s participation could open doors for even more Afrobeats acts in future editions of the festival.
Founded in 1999, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has grown into one of the most sought-after and influential music festivals in the world, drawing over 250,000 attendees annually and millions more via livestream. Performing at Coachella is widely seen as a career milestone for artists, as it provides a platform to reach an international audience and gain critical exposure.
For Davido, who has headlined sold-out concerts in Europe, North America, and Africa, Coachella represents yet another opportunity to showcase Afrobeats to a global audience.
