Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is poised to make his much-anticipated return to action in next week’s UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Nigerian forward has been sidelined with an ankle injury picked up during international duty but is now closing in on full fitness.
Reports in Turkey suggest that manager Okan Buruk and the medical staff have opted against risking Osimhen in the upcoming league fixture away to Eyüpspor, instead keeping him fresh for the European showdown.

According to Fanatik, the club believes the 26-year-old’s presence will be decisive in Frankfurt, given his reputation as a big-game player.
The injury setback occurred while Osimhen was representing Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier against Rwanda. He was quickly flown back to Istanbul on a private jet for immediate assessment and treatment.
Team doctor Yener İnce confirmed the diagnosis of a moderate ankle sprain with ligament bleeding but reassured fans that the forward is responding well to therapy. “Treatment has begun to ensure his return to the pitch as soon as possible,” İnce explained in an official statement.
Osimhen has been central to Galatasaray’s attacking firepower since joining the club, and last season’s record of 37 goals in 41 appearances underscores his importance.
His performances have already elevated expectations, with the Istanbul giants pinning much of their European ambitions on his ability to deliver on the continental stage.
Beyond the medical updates, insiders reveal that Osimhen held a candid discussion with Buruk upon his return to Istanbul, where he reiterated his commitment to sacrifice for the team’s Champions League campaign.
His readiness to step up comes at a critical time, especially with questions surrounding Mauro Icardi’s availability.

His presence against Frankfurt will not only boost morale but also serve as a statement of intent as the Turkish champions aim to assert themselves among Europe’s elite this season.
