Kano State is preparing to welcome President Bola Tinubu on Friday, July 18, 2025, as he arrives to offer condolences to the government, people of Kano, and the family of the late elder statesman, business mogul, and philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
Governor Abah Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, confirmed the visit in a statement on Thursday, describing it as a significant gesture of national unity and respect for both the people of Kano and the enduring legacy of Alhaji Dantata.
The visit comes in the wake of the recent passing of the renowned industrialist, whose impact on Kano and Nigeria at large has been widely acknowledged.
Tofa urged residents of Kano to warmly welcome the President in accordance with the state’s long-standing traditions of hospitality, dignity, and respect for visiting leaders.
“This is a moment of solemn reflection and national respect, I urge all Kano residents to receive the President warmly and in an orderly manner, as he joins us in mourning one of our greatest elder statesmen,” the governor was quoted as saying.
Authorities have assured that all necessary security and logistical arrangements have been made to facilitate a smooth and dignified visit by the President.
The visit underscores the importance of unity and honour in paying tribute to a figure who played a pivotal role in the economic and philanthropic development of Kano State and beyond.
