Senator Samuel Anyanwu has been officially directed to resume his position as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), following a formal announcement by the party’s Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum.
Speaking during a press conference held today at Wadata Plaza, the PDP’s National Secretariat, Damagum confirmed Anyanwu’s reinstatement and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity and constitutional order.
The announcement comes amid ongoing internal adjustments within the PDP’s leadership ahead of upcoming political activities.

In the same briefing, Damagum revealed that the party’s planned 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting has been cancelled due to unresolved constitutional concerns.
Instead, he announced that a National Caucus meeting will be held on 30 June to address pressing matters.
Party insiders suggest the leadership is working to stabilise its ranks and streamline its processes as it positions itself for a stronger opposition role leading up to the 2027 general elections.
