Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended Alaro City, a transformative urban development in West Africa, for injecting over $1 billion into Lagos’ economy and accelerating industrialization.
During a recent tour of Alaro City, developed by Rendeavour in partnership with the Lagos State Government and other stakeholders, Governor Sanwo-Olu praised its significant role in shaping the state’s economic future.
He was accompanied by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Folashade Ambrose, alongside top government officials, including the Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Olugbemiga Aina.
Exploring the city’s rapidly expanding residential and industrial investments, the governor credited President Bola Tinubu for pioneering the Lekki Free Zone, a foundation that continues to drive economic growth.
“On behalf of Lagos State, I commend Alaro City for this phenomenal development,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“It is incredible to witness how vision, backed by resilience and execution, is bringing a city like this to life. It is particularly impressive to note its impact, with 500 residential investors, 80 manufacturing companies, and thousands of jobs created in just six years.

“This city is not only controlling urban expansion but also attracting global investment.”
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to economic expansion, Sanwo-Olu highlighted plans for the Lekki International Airport, set to be developed across the expressway from Alaro City, alongside the Green Line Metro project, which will connect Marina to the Lekki Free Zone.
The governor also visited major industrial players within Alaro City, including Ariel Foods, a producer of therapeutic food for malnourished children, Starium, a detergent manufacturer under BUA Group, TY Logistics Park, Nigeria’s first Grade A logistics facility and Universal One, a leading housing developer in the Lekki Free Zone, where he inspected newly completed two- and three-bedroom apartments
Frank Mosier, Board Director of Rendeavour, acknowledged the crucial role of the Free Zone scheme in attracting investors.
He praised Lagos State’s commitment to infrastructure development, highlighting key projects such as the Lekki Deep Sea Port and the upgraded Lekki-Epe Expressway, which have positioned Alaro City as a strategic business hub.

Alaro City continues to attract both local and international businesses, thanks to its world-class infrastructure, including an eight-lane Alaro Boulevard, a scalable 120MW Independent Power Plant, fibre-optic connectivity, and a mixed-use master plan.
With its rapid growth and investor-friendly environment, Alaro City is solidifying Lagos’ position as Africa’s leading economic powerhouse.
