According to him, his father decided to board a police van to the nearest bus stop close to their residence. However, on their way, they encountered heavy traffic caused by what appeared to be men in military camouflage.
Unaware that the individuals were armed robbers, his father and colleagues reportedly stepped out of the vehicle to assess the situation. The attackers allegedly opened fire after noticing their police uniforms.
Carter Efe said the experience remains deeply traumatic, noting that he later saw footage of his father’s body on television, which he claims is still available online.
Reflecting on the painful experience, he said it shaped his resilience.
“I am not a stranger to pain. I have gone through a lot of pains. So, there is no pain that will make me stop my grind,” he added.
The revelation has since drawn sympathy from fans, many of whom praised him for his strength and perseverance despite the tragedy.
