The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has described the outcome of Saturday’s by-elections in parts of the country as a public endorsement of the leadership of Bola Tinubu and the ruling party’s governance agenda.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Lagos APC spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the results signalled growing public confidence in the party’s direction, particularly the Renewed Hope Agenda being pursued by the Tinubu administration at the federal level.
“The outcome of these by-elections represents a clear and democratic referendum on the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the policy direction of our great party,” Oladejo stated.
He expressed appreciation to voters in Rivers State, Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory, among other areas, for what he described as their strong participation and continued faith in the APC’s reform agenda.
According to the party, the victories secured by its candidates reflect public trust in the administration’s economic reforms, infrastructure drive and institutional strengthening efforts. The statement described the results as “resounding victories” that reaffirm confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the transformative policies being implemented at both federal and state levels.
The Lagos APC also used the opportunity to criticise opposition parties, accusing them of relying on rhetoric and social media activism rather than presenting what it termed credible and practical policy alternatives.
“These results send a strong message that governance is not driven by social media popularity or online noise, but by tangible performance and the ability to deliver on promises,” Oladejo said.
The party dismissed suggestions that digital influence alone could determine electoral outcomes, arguing that grassroots engagement and voter trust remain decisive factors in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Looking ahead, the Lagos chapter said the by-election results could signal favourable prospects for the APC in the 2027 general elections. It attributed the momentum to what it described as decisive leadership, courageous reforms and a sustained commitment to national development under President Tinubu.
The party also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the elections, describing the process as credible. Security agencies were similarly praised for maintaining peace and order during the polls.
In addition, the Lagos APC acknowledged the efforts of party leaders, campaign teams and volunteers for their grassroots mobilisation.
Reaffirming its support for President Tinubu, the party called on Nigerians, including members of opposition groups, to set aside partisan differences and work collectively towards building a more united and prosperous nation.
