According to MyLondon, a walk under West Sussex’s enchanting tree tunnel might just be the perfect antidote, sitting merely 90 minutes away from the bustle of the capital.

The Halnaker tree tunnel, situated near Chichester in a peaceful Sussex village, epitomises nature’s splendour.

Accessible from a nearby lay-by, this captivating tree-lined passage offers an otherworldly retreat from everyday life and encapsulates serenity itself.

With each step along the path, which winds upwards on a gentle incline, you delve deeper into an enchanting arboreal archway that dazzles throughout the seasons, appearing just as breathtaking in the brisk air of autumn and winter as it does under the warm summer sun, the online magazine reports.

Commencing at Mill Lane, the journey leads ramblers to the esteemed Halnaker Windmill, a remarkable feature in the Sussex landscape.

Located a mere 3.5 miles from Chichester, the trail promises peace and quiet not too far removed from urban convenience.

Those who stroll its length can marvel at the stunning views along the pathway, capturing photographic memories of what has been affectionately termed the “magical” trail.

MyLondon reports that the walk is so popular that it’s become a favourite spot for professional photographers, with one recently winning the Landscape Photographer of the Year award and a £10,000 prize for a shot taken in the area.

The path through the trees leads up to Halnaker Hill, offering more stunning views and photo opportunities, including the historic Halnaker Mill.

Despite numerous restorations over the years, the mill remains a beautiful sight after emerging from the picturesque woods below. Often hailed as one of the best walks in the South East, it’s well worth the short journey time to visit.
