A Japanese plane headed from Tokyo to Texas made an emergency landing after a passenger attempted to open one of its doors during the flight.
All Nippon Airways Flight 114 was diverted to Seattle due to an unruly passenger.
According to the Port of Seattle police, they received reports of a man trying to open the exit doors mid-flight. The individual, who hasn’t been identified, experienced a medical crisis and was restrained by fellow passengers and the flight crew. He was taken to a hospital after landing, and it’s unclear if charges will be filed.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority,” ANA stated, appreciating local law enforcement’s support. During the plane’s wait on the tarmac at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, another passenger was removed for unruly behaviour.
Flight data indicates the plane reached George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston behind schedule.
Also in April, a Jetstar flight from Bali to Melbourne diverted after a door-opening attempt.
In November, an American Airlines passenger was restrained with duct tape after trying to open a door.
An Asiana Airlines flight incident in November 2023, where a man opened an emergency exit door, causing breathing difficulties for nine passengers before landing in South Korea.
