Nigeria’s Super Falcons will meet the Benin Republic’s She-Cheetahs in October as the race for qualification to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco heats up.
The ten-time champions and reigning titleholders will begin their campaign with a first-leg qualifier away in Benin, before hosting the return leg in Nigeria during the final qualifying window from 20–28 October.

The Falcons head into the qualifiers buoyed by their historic triumph in 2024, when they clinched a record 10th WAFCON crown in Morocco.
That victory reinforced their dominance in African women’s football and strengthened their credentials on the global stage, boosting their drive for another FIFA Women’s World Cup appearance.
Head coach Justine Magudu has stressed the team’s determination to maintain that winning momentum.
He assured fans and stakeholders that preparations are already underway, with the squad focused on raising performance levels ahead of the decisive fixtures.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), working closely with the technical team, has rolled out an intensive training programme designed to equip the players for the challenges ahead.
