Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has joined Scottish Premiership champions Celtic following the mutual termination of his contract with Sevilla.
Sevilla confirmed his departure in an official statement, noting that both parties agreed to end the deal, which had been due to run until June 2026.

The club thanked the 28-year-old forward for his contributions and wished him well in the next stage of his career.
Iheanacho had joined Sevilla last summer on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City but struggled for consistency under manager Matías Almeyda.
He made 11 appearances, scoring three goals, and later spent part of last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he registered one goal and two assists in 15 matches.
Sevilla’s sporting director, Víctor Orta, eventually deemed him surplus to requirements.
Sports journalist George Tsarouchas first reported on X that Iheanacho had reached a verbal agreement with Celtic.
Sky Sports later revealed that the Glasgow club were seeking a replacement for Adam Idah, who recently joined Swansea City in a £7m move.
Discussions with Iheanacho are expected to pave the way for a permanent deal, with the transfer permitted outside Scotland’s deadline as the striker is currently a free agent.
His departure comes as Sevilla continues reshaping their squad with new arrivals, including Batista Mendy, Fábio Cardoso, and Alexis Sánchez.

On the international stage, Iheanacho has been a regular feature for Nigeria since his debut in 2015, earning 58 caps.
He has scored crucial goals in World Cup qualifiers and Africa Cup of Nations campaigns, notably helping the Super Eagles reach the AFCON 2023 final.
A 2021 FA Cup winner with Leicester City, Iheanacho is expected to bring valuable experience and attacking firepower to Celtic as they push to defend their Premiership title.
