The Kebbi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to members attempting to sabotage its upcoming congresses, scheduled for September 20 and 27, 2025, stating that such actions will face severe sanctions.
The announcement was made by the party’s State Legal Adviser, Nura Bello, during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
Bello revealed that the PDP’s national leadership has established a Disciplinary Committee to address any members involved in anti-party activities or efforts to disrupt the congresses.

“Our party at the national level has already constituted a Disciplinary Committee to deal with any member found engaging in anti-party activities or sabotaging the congresses,” he declared, underscoring the party’s commitment to maintaining internal discipline.
Addressing concerns about a court order that surfaced on social media on September 18, which purportedly directed the suspension of PDP congresses in Kano and Kebbi States, Bello clarified that the party had promptly engaged legal counsel to challenge the order.
He confirmed that the court order had been successfully vacated, allowing the congresses to proceed as planned.
Bello expressed disappointment that the plaintiffs behind the court action were PDP members from Kebbi State.
He criticised their approach, noting that such jurisdictional matters should have been resolved at the state High Court rather than being escalated unnecessarily.
“These actions by our own members are unfortunate and counterproductive,” he lamented, urging unity within the party as it prepares for the 2027 elections.

The PDP’s warning signals its determination to ensure a smooth and transparent congress process, which is critical for selecting party leaders and setting the stage for its 2027 election strategy.
