Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has restated his administration’s commitment to resolving the local government leadership issue in the state through legal and peaceful means.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed yesterday, Mr Adeleke congratulated the people of Osun on the recent Court of Appeal judgement.

The judgement he described as a final affirmation of the legitimacy of the elected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairmen and councillors.
The court had earlier sacked the All Progressives Congress (APC) Yes/No chairmen in 2022.
The governor praised the patience and dedication to due process demonstrated by the people of Osun and stressed that the judgment had effectively ended all claims about reinstating the previously dismissed APC chairmen.
“Unlike the opposition, we are committed to due process. The latest judgement is being served to all relevant stakeholders at both the state and national levels. We expect a swift restoration of normalcy per the law,” Mr Adeleke said.
He also commended the PDP chairmen and councillors across the 30 local governments and area councils for their commitment to peace and unity since their inauguration.
“Your patience and support for the law have paid off,” the governor added.
Mr Adeleke further expressed gratitude to security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace and order in the state.

He urged citizens and residents to continue to conduct themselves peacefully.
