Former National Health Service (NHS) paramedic staff have won a house estimated at £4m in Surrey Hills and says he has not yet decided whether he and his family will keep it.
Mr. Alistair Walker revealed he realised he had won the house and cash of £250,000 on Halloween terming it as “the best treat i’ve ever had”.
The former NHS paramedics grew up in Surrey with memories afresh and lives in Darlington stating that: “I met my wife for tbhe first time in Guildford when we were working together, it feels like it must be fate.”
He added that “We don’t know what we’ll do long-term yet we’ll definitely be taking the girls down there to enjoy some family time, our daughters can even learn to swim in their very own pool”.
He noted that he was “floored” after he was aware he won.
“We’ve just had our second baby daughter, so this win has come at the perfect time,” he asserted.
“It’s the best feeling in the world knowing our daughters’ futures are secure – it’s absolutely incredible.
“I’ve never really won anything before – my wife’s grandma used to win on the bingo a lot, so maybe some of that luck has rubbed off on us.”
Walker, who is currently a manager in the NHS following a decade of working as a paramedic revealed he won the house through a competition company Omaze which raises money for various charities.
President of Omaze, James Oakes mentioned “We’re absolutely delighted for Alistair and his family.
“Whether he chooses to move in, rent it out or sell and walk away a multi-millionaire, the choice is entirely up to him.”
Oakes, appreciated the community for their donations towards the health support initiative.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Omaze community, this draw has raised £1,000,000 for Breast Cancer Now, helping to fund lifesaving research for people affected by breast cancer.”
