An independent MP and former Labour minister, Dan Norris, has been rearrested amid allegations of rape, sexual assault, voyeurism and upskirting.
Norris was suspended from Labour following his initial arrest.
Police are continuing an investigation into a man in his 60s, with further arrests made in connection with a series of alleged sexual offences.
In April 2025, he was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault against a girl, rape, misconduct in public office and child abduction.
He has now been rearrested on suspicion of raping a woman, sexually assaulting another woman, and committing voyeurism and upskirting offences against a number of women.
A representative of the force said: “We are no longer actively investigating any sexual offences against children, but the original rape and misconduct in public office investigation is continuing.
“All offences are alleged to have occurred between the 2000s and 2020s.

Speaking on the complexity of the probe, he stated: “Investigations into sexual offences are sensitive and complex and, as a result, can take a significant amount of time for inquiries to be completed. We are keeping victims updated on any developments and will continue to give access to any support they may need.”
At the 2024 general election, Norris was elected MP for North East Somerset and Hanham, defeating Jacob Rees-Mogg.
He previously represented the Wansdyke constituency in parliament from 1997 to 2010.
Norris served as a junior minister under Gordon Brown and as an assistant whip during Tony Blair’s government.
Following his arrest, he stepped down as chair of the animal welfare charity League Against Cruel Sports.
