Another councillor of Reform UK has been suspended after the leak of a video showing a heated council meeting.
Following the suspension of five councillors, Isabella Kemp, a member of Kent County Council, has been suspended.
Kemp informed the BBC that she will seek legal action against the party over her suspension.
Reform UK won 57 of Kent County Council’s 81 seats in the May local elections, overtaking and ending 30 years of Conservative dominance.
However, the party has since lost nine councillors, reducing its representation to 48.
A leaked video published by The Guardian reveals Reform UK’s KCC leader, Linden Kemkaran, swearing and shouting during a council meeting.
She is heard telling party members to “suck it up” in reference to her decisions in the footage.
Kemkaran used her son’s military training to depict the party’s operation, saying: “Some had quit because they couldn’t hack it, others have been thrown out for bad behaviour because they weren’t good enough or they weren’t team players — not up to the challenge or were simply unable or unwilling to accept discipline.”
Meanwhile, opposition leader, Liberal Democrat Antony Hook, said people are doubting the administration’s stability and are placing bets on whether it will collapse by Christmas or by Easter.
Councillor Maxine Fothergill is suspended, while councillors Bill Barrett, Paul Thomas, Brian Black and Oliver Bradshaw have been expelled, linking five councillors to the video leak.
