Popular Nollywood actress Motilola Akinlami has reconciled with her former boss and producer Kunle Afod, bringing an end to their long-standing dispute.
The development marked a significant turn in their relationship, years after a highly publicised fallout that drew attention across the film industry.
New Daily Prime recalled that in 2024, Motilola accused Kunle Afod of allegedly blocking her from getting acting opportunities after she ended their working relationship.

At the time, she claimed that her decision was influenced by concerns over her husband’s wife’s alleged insecurity, a statement that sparked widespread reactions.
However, speaking in a recent interview with actor Tony Montana, Motilola confirmed that the rift had now been resolved.
She described the disagreement as deeply painful, noting that it involved someone she once held in high regard.
“The major conflict that I had was with someone that I respected a lot, and it was very painful for me,” she said. “It had to degenerate to a point where I had to come on social media to call names. It was painful for me that it got to that point.”
Furthermore, she revealed that efforts by colleagues in the industry played a key role in mending the relationship. She specifically credited Femi Adebayo for facilitating the reconciliation.
“So, shout out to Femi Adebayo for helping us to put it over. Femi Adebayo is a peaceful person,” she said.
In addition, Motilola disclosed that other industry figures also contributed to the peace process. She mentioned Bayo Tijani among those who intervened and helped both parties resolve.
“The issue has been resolved between myself and my boss, Kunle Afod. God has helped us resolve it. Some of the older colleagues have intervened,” she added.
Her remarks suggested a sense of closure after years of tension. She admitted that she had been deeply hurt by how events unfolded but expressed gratitude that both sides were able to move forward.
Meanwhile, the reconciliation has been welcomed by fans and industry observers, many of whom had followed the dispute closely. The resolution also highlighted the role of mediation and dialogue in resolving conflicts within the entertainment sector.
Overall, Motilola’s announcement signalled a fresh start, as both she and Kunle Afod appear to have put their differences behind them.
