Nigeria will aim to etch another milestone in their Africa Cup of Nations legacy as they clash with hosts Morocco in the semi-finals of the 2025 tournament.
The match, set for Wednesday night at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, promises a fierce battle for a place in Nigeria’s ninth continental final.
The Super Eagles advanced by defeating Algeria in the quarter-finals, while Morocco progressed after overcoming Cameroon.

Nigeria have shown remarkable resilience, winning all five of their matches so far, including every group-stage fixture.
Morocco, meanwhile, recorded one draw and won their remaining matches, including those in the group stage.
Even before kickoff, Morocco hold a significant edge with home advantage, turning the encounter into a daunting challenge for Nigeria against the host nation.
Defensively, Morocco have been rock-solid, conceding just once throughout the tournament, whereas Super Eagles have managed only two clean sheets.
On the attacking front, however, Nigeria boast the competition’s most potent offense, netting 12 goals so far.
In contrast, Morocco have found scoring more difficult, with much of their threat relying on Brahim Díaz, who has tallied five goals becoming the first player since 2021 to score in five matches at a single AFCON edition.
For Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen will be eager to match Rasheed Yekini’s record, adding extra intrigue to the forward battle.
Super Eagles’s record at the semi-final stage reflects both pedigree and pressure. They have reached this stage 15 times, winning eight and losing seven, with the 1976 edition decided by a second group phase rather than a knockout match.
History adds another layer: in their last six meetings across all competitions, Nigeria have secured two wins and suffered four losses against Morocco, underscoring the uphill task ahead for the Super Eagles.
