Trump announces fast-tracm visas for 2026 World Cup ticket holders

‎President Donald Trump has unveiled a special fast-track visa program for fans attending the 2026 World Cup.
‎
‎As one of the tournament’s host nations, the United States has promised a smooth experience for visitors, despite concerns that Trump’s strict immigration policies could affect international fans.
‎
‎“For anyone planning to join us for the World Cup, I highly recommend applying immediately,” Trump said while announcing the initiative in the Oval Office alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

‎Since Trump’s return to the White House in January, Infantino has frequently appeared with him, describing the so-called “FIFA Pass” as a “very important announcement.”
‎
‎“If you have a World Cup ticket, you’ll receive priority scheduling for your visa appointment,” Infantino explained.
‎
‎“We expect between five and ten million fans from around the world to travel to the U.S. for the World Cup. With the FIFA Pass, those who purchase tickets and are genuine soccer fans can attend the event under the best possible conditions.”

‎However, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio cautioned fans not to assume the pass guarantees entry.
‎
‎“Having a ticket does not equal a visa,” Rubio stated. “It only ensures an expedited appointment—you’ll still undergo the standard screening process.”
‎
‎Under the program, ticket holders would receive a visa interview within six to eight weeks, Rubio said, emphasizing the importance of applying early.
‎
‎Trump has highlighted the World Cup as a major event of both his second term and the nation’s 250th anniversary next year. The tournament draw is scheduled for December 5 in Washington, D.C.
‎
‎Trump has also suggested relocating games from certain host cities as part of a crackdown on crime and migration in some Democratic-led areas.
